I know there’s nothing different unless I want to get elaborate with filters and skimmers, but does anyone have suggestions on how to clean it out? I’m planning on using a sandy bottom with live rock. I know it’s small, but it’s just going to be for my poor cleaner shrimp.
I currently have a 20 gallon freshwater with 5 neons and 3 ottos. They are doing fine but the plants I have aren’t. I have two Amazon Swordplants, 2 hornworts, and one Anacharis Plant. The swordplants leaves grow back brownish and see through. The hornworts leaves pollute the tank and the poor fish hate it. Is it ok to switch back to fake plants? Ok, second question, Can a 10 gallon be a saltwater tank? I am looking into converting my 10 gal into a SW. THe only things in there would be ONE Royal Gramma and some shrimp. Do I have to have live rock? Can you use plastic rocks and fake plants in a SW tank? Thanks!

I would like to start a nano or pico reef tank. I would like for it to be 2.5 gallons or 5.5 gallons or maximum 10 gallons. I would like to do this all under 100 dollars. Is this feasible? I am honestly new to this, but I have kept many freshwater tanks before. I would not mind it being only inverts. I would like to have a clown or goby though. But shrimp or lobsters, etc would be perfectly fine. 20 points to best answer.
