Changed the original a little to correct accompanying music. 10 minute film of a 56 liter tank containing various smaller tropical fishspecies: Iriatherina werneri (rainbowfish), Pseudomugil gertrudae (blueeye), Rasbora galaxy, Aphyosemion australe “GOLD”, Otocinclus arnoldi, Ancistrus species affinis dolichopterus, Apistogramma cacatouides (cockatoo dwarf cichlid), 2 species of freshwater shrimp. As for the plants: The Cabombas are planted in a pot with garden soil – as are some other plants as well. I picked this clever trick up only recently having read the highly recommended book “Ecology of the Planted Aquarium” by Diana Walstad. If you’re having problems with aquarium plants don’t hesitate to read this book. If you’re wondering about the small moving dots appearing at some point in the film: The fish are fed with live cyclops. As for the music: Saint-Saëns “Aquarium” from Carnival of the animals, fabulously played by two great living pianists: Cristina Ortiz and Pascal Rogé. Debussy etude “Pour les Arpèges composes”, played by the famous virtuoso (no longer living), Vladimir Horowitz, and last Debussy Prelude Book 2 “Ondine” played by the inimitable Samson Francais. This is my first (well… now second to be precise) attempt at a Youtube video, so please bear with me. See …
