Fish Tank Crisis and Ich Treatment?

I have 6 goldfish as well as a khulii loach and a ghost shrimp. About 2 hours ago while just looking at my tank I discovered that my smaller ryukin had white spots on his tail fins (ich spots I assume). I didn’t find anything as obvious on my other fish while I think I see similar spots on my larger ryukin. I started a 50% water change. I went to pick up the rock where my loach usually hides. He hides a lot and I hadnt seen him in about 2 days, but this was typical him. To my surprise (and total disgust) I found a very gross discolored (orangish, no black pigment at all) very dead loach. And to add to this my ghost shrimp is acting VERY weird. I had not seen him either in about a day or two, this is NOT like him at all. Today he was not moving much and did not react to the fish or net like normal. Has anyone had a similar expierience? Any advice? For ich treatment, a store bought chemical treatment or salt? Whats the best way to save all of my fish? I would REALLY hate to lose them…
It is reccommended that 50% water changes are done, I didn’t just make that up. The water quality is important when treating ich. I have not had ich in my tank ever, which is why I don’t know the best treatments

Bamboo Plant in Aquarium?

I have a 20 gallon aquarium freshwater tank with 4 tetras, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 pea puffer, 1 loach, and a dwarf frog. I have fake plants and 2 branches as decor. I want live bamboo (dracaena) in my tank, just because it looks different. I’ve seen Petco fully submerge bamboo inside their tanks with shrimp. I’ve done research but found out that bamboo will rot if fully submerged. How does Petco do it?

Has anyone tried it?

I found this link and this person seems to have successfully planted bamboo into his tank. Do you think I have to cut the roots and leaves off before putting varnish dip? Can I buy varnish dip at Home Depot?

Best ‘clean up crew’ for freshwater aquarium?

i have 6 kuhli loach, a colony of shrimp and 2 star light bristlenose pleco. im thinking of adding 4 or 5 cory’s. is there any other scavenger fish that are cool unique. (not a fan of corys)

ps. i know there is no such thing as a clean up crew, i do 30% water changes weekly.
its 55 gal. and it has fish that wont go well with sword tails. low ph…
yes i do understand that :P i would rather have fish waste than un eaten food.. hence more bottom feeders :)

How should I deal with an adopted 10 gallon fish tank (1 Tiger Barb, 1 CAE)?

I’ve adopted two fish in a 10 gallon. They are “what’s left” of a family member’s community tank they no longer want. I have been reading up about Tiger Barbs and CAE, and it sounds as though neither should be in a 10 gallon. I just bought a 20 gallon (for my weather loach, black moore and reg fantail that I love), so I can’t afford the money/space for a bigger tank at the moment. The two of them seem to get along ok – the odd scuffle where one bugs the other or vice versa (seems pretty even between the two in the bugging). What can I do to keep them happy? I wanted more Tiger Barbs, but I’m worried they won’t have enough space and they’ll kill each other and the CAE eventually… I’ve heard of some people putting Guppies (which I’ve always wanted) in with Tiger Barbs and the Barb keeps the fry numbers down, but I’m worried he’ll nip their fins to stubs. Would putting something completely different in there work (shrimp, aquatic frog, freshwater crab, etc?). Oh, forgot to mention, I have thought of taking them to the lfs and trading them in, but I think my family member who gave them to me might be offended, so it’s not my first choice by any means. Thanks in advance!
I am already aware my goldfish will eventually need a bigger tank.

Also, I have read up about both the Tiger and the CAE, so I didn’t need any more basic info on them, I am asking for any creative ideas people had to avoid having to take them back. Thanks

What are the best freshwater fish for 54 Gallon bowfront corner Tank?

Ok so after I posted a questions last week, I quickly realized I had to upgrade the size of my tank. I will be going from a 20 gallon High to a 54 Gallon corner bowfront. I have 2 Pictus Cats, 2 Clown Loaches, 2 Silver Dollars, @ Gourami, and a Rainbow Shark going into the bowfront. Any suggestions on the transfer process? Also, I was thinking of adding another loach and silver dollar. Any other suggestions? What about something weird like a freshwater shrimp??

Final question, should I install air pumps?? Thanks!!
All the fish are very small (less than 2 inches)
