I’ve been leaning towards apple snails, but I’ve been reading too much and getting different info about what they eat– Sometimes saying they’ll only eat live plants if there’s nothing else around, other sources saying they’ll eat live plants no matter what. I plan on getting a planted aquarium so I want to clean that up… would a few apple snails be safe for my plant life in my 25 gallon freshwater aquarium?
I have also been thinking about Zebra Nerite snails, but I just learned of these guys recently so I’m not too sure about them.
I was also thinking of amano shrimp, and possibly glass shrimp (just because they look so neat!)
I’m going to get some cory catfish but I know they aren’t exactly algae eaters, though they may eat it every so often.
I may also get a siamese algae eater, but I don’t want to overpopulate my tank too much. The last option I’ve been thinking about is an Otocinclus Catfish, but once again I don’t want to overpopulate and I’m already planning on getting Cory Cats…
Anyway, sorry for my ranting! Just a new & nervous aquarium starter
Thanks for your help in advance!
