I have a 20 gallon aquarium freshwater tank with 4 tetras, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 pea puffer, 1 loach, and a dwarf frog. I have fake plants and 2 branches as decor. I want live bamboo (dracaena) in my tank, just because it looks different. I’ve seen Petco fully submerge bamboo inside their tanks with shrimp. I’ve done research but found out that bamboo will rot if fully submerged. How does Petco do it?
Has anyone tried it?

I found this link and this person seems to have successfully planted bamboo into his tank. Do you think I have to cut the roots and leaves off before putting varnish dip? Can I buy varnish dip at Home Depot?
