I’m converting my 30 gallon freshwater to saltwater.

I’m new with saltwater but old with freshwater, and i’m almost done cycling.
I have 40lb of live rocks in there. A powerhead, and a canister filter (just for extra flow and mechanical filtration,–> sponges are often washed to prevent beneficial bacteria building there instead of on the live rocks)

I’m still using my old 2 x 6700 fluorescent light tubes. Are they ok for my Fish-Only-with-Live-Rocks tank? I’m planning to have a pair of clown fish, yellow watchman goby with pilot shrimp, yellow-tail blue damsel and a royal gramma.
No protein skimmer.

And what if I’d like to have purple coralline algea? I heard something about Actinic light. Can I have that running with my fluorescent tube? Since I only have 1 switch in my hood, where you can plug 2 tubes at once.

I don’t know much about lighting. I want something not fancy/expensive, that make my fish/shrimp comfortable and possibly promote coralline algea growth. My tank’s spot has no sun.

Thanks!
Thanks Sarah, but i’ve already read that article before. That’s why i want to get more info about the Actinic light, and whether it makes sense to have it on with my florescent tube at once.
And you’ve given me contradicting info now… while you’re saying 3w/g and more for coralline algae, .. the article you copied says 1.6, which is much less.

Ok so after I posted a questions last week, I quickly realized I had to upgrade the size of my tank. I will be going from a 20 gallon High to a 54 Gallon corner bowfront. I have 2 Pictus Cats, 2 Clown Loaches, 2 Silver Dollars, @ Gourami, and a Rainbow Shark going into the bowfront. Any suggestions on the transfer process? Also, I was thinking of adding another loach and silver dollar. Any other suggestions? What about something weird like a freshwater shrimp??

Final question, should I install air pumps?? Thanks!!
All the fish are very small (less than 2 inches)

ive had my freshwater tank for about a year and its a 55gal but they used to be in a 30 gal, should i stick with that or up to a 40 gal. I am definitely getting at least 2 bangaii cardinals. im getting live sand and live rock, is live rock and coral the same thing, i dont think so but my dad does. im trying for a pistol shrimp and a black ray goby for the symbiosis effect, im sure they should all fit in their with a sea anemone. would these fish and anemone work out?
ok so no to the anemone, and im doing great with my other tanks and i didnt really ask anything about coral besides if it was the same as live rock, which i already knew it wasnt =P looks like im done with that extra months worth

I decided to let the cleaner shrimp in.
The 2 baby clown fish are in the plastic bag, its opened but its floating in the water

I was thinking ill just leave them in the bag floating on the top of the tank till things stabilize and ill just feed them in there.
Will they survive in bag or do i need to add water etc?
