Need to change my fish and decor out. 55 gallon freshwater tank.?

Right now I have large gravel and a bunch of cichlids. I would like to change it over to a sand floor, some live plants and some small non agressive fish. Ideas and links would be great. There is just so much info out there, I don’t know where to begin to look. I have double filtration going from the top, a heater, thermometer, 4 air stones going, and of course lights.

I am going to rehome my cichlids this weekend, and give the tanks some time to adjust to the change over from gravel to sand before I start adding in new fish. Need low maintenance ideas. As in, once a week at most. My boyfriend is partial to ghost shrimp for a clean up crew. I am not too sure about them. I know guppies are colorful, but want to stay away from guppies, and mollies. Danios I have had before and liked the coloring and activity level. Any other ideas? What do you have in your tanks?

What is the best website for fish?

I know pretty much the basics about my fish tank. I have a 29 gal. with tropical fish and some shrimp. Then I have a 10 gal. with 3 Pacus in it. I know enough to make them happy and take care of them, but I would like to know more. Is there a good website that could tell me more than the basics of taking care of a tropical fish tank? I dont need to know how to clean or how to feed, but rather, how to make my fish bigger and how to make my filtration systems last longer.
they arent big yet and i am not asking for lectures and facts about my Pacus, im just asking for a website to help me out on some tips. im well aware how big they get, i did my research before i bought them.

i know i have an overstocked aquarium and i keep up with the water changes every month, while adding plant food and stabalyze and add ammonia remover….
ive had my fishies in the 10 gallon for almost a year now
and that is why im upgrading, now i have almost enough money to upgrade

now my question is i know poeple say aquaeons power filters arent good and i also read that the filter provided in the kit is barley enought to filter out the tank, soim asking is it better to buy an internal power filter, say 30 gallon whisper internal, or should i buy a powerfilter? cause right now im using 2 filtersin my tank,
im using an 2-10i internal filter and im sing a tetra 5-10 gallon power filter, so that two filters in 1 tank, but its just for now until i upgrade, to a bigger tank and better filters…

i have all the nesesary components needed for my futyure 20 gallon tank, im just curious about the filters…
power 30 gallon filter
or 30 gallon internal filter….
i need the pros and cons
