Brood Care of a Red Fire/ Red Cherry Shrimp

My Red Fire Shrimp supplies her Eggs with fresh Water. My first Video by the way, Please Comment :)
Video Rating: 5 / 5

Here’s a video of my baby Cherry Shrimp at feeding time. They’re so small it’s hard to get a clear shot of them. Look for the little black eyes and stomachs crawling around under and around the adults :) . The adults are about 1.5″ long and the algae wafer is about .5″ in diameter for size comparison. Sorry about the color cast, the tank doesn’t really look that orange. It sort of takes away from the bright red color of the adult shrimp.

What are we supposed to feed a red-eared slider?

I have been reading several websites about RES care and am recieving conflicting information about what to feed them. Some say it is ok to catch wild bugs (worms, crickets) as long as they are not exposed to chemicals, while another says no because of parasites. One site says commercial food should only be 25% of the diet while another says it should be the main staple. One says feeder fish from a pet store are fine on occasion (but never indicates how often) while another says no to certain feeder fish (such as goldfish). One website says ‘no’ to shrimp while commercial pellets contain shrimp. How much and how often should I feed the turtle? Will feeding him as much as he can eat in 15 minutes (in a separate tub) once a day be too much? I think he is still pretty young….he’s about 6″ long. I got him from a coworker who got him at a pet store and she was going to release him into the wild. I couldn’t let that happen, so I brought him home, but I am unprepared. I have pellots for now.

What should I feed my Red-Eared Slider Turtles?

I would like to feed my two turtles something different for a change. They have been consuming dried shrimp that come in those Raffy l tins for reptiles for about… 3 years now. I don’t know what to feed them, since i tried giving them lettuce, but they absolutely hated it. Care to offer any suggestions? I was thinking something along the lines of fruits, veggies, etc. Thanks.

What is the best website for fish?

I know pretty much the basics about my fish tank. I have a 29 gal. with tropical fish and some shrimp. Then I have a 10 gal. with 3 Pacus in it. I know enough to make them happy and take care of them, but I would like to know more. Is there a good website that could tell me more than the basics of taking care of a tropical fish tank? I dont need to know how to clean or how to feed, but rather, how to make my fish bigger and how to make my filtration systems last longer.
they arent big yet and i am not asking for lectures and facts about my Pacus, im just asking for a website to help me out on some tips. im well aware how big they get, i did my research before i bought them.
