In my 28 gallon freshwater tank i have in pairs the following fish:
Red Wag Platys (one male and female
Dwarf Gouramis (already breeding)
Gold Gouramis (cant tell)
Pearl Gouramis (cant tell)
Dinosuar Bichirs (cant tell)
Silver Molly (one female)
Dalmation Molly (one male)
Black Molly (one male)
Ghost Shrimps (cant tell)
Gold Lyretail Molly (pretty sure is male)
And my many questions:
1. How often will my platys have fry?
2. How should i care for them?
3. How do i tell the genders of my shrimps, bichirs, gold and pearl gouramis? and how often do they breed?
4. Can my mollies interbreed or do they need a mate of the same species? Hoping not since my male silver molly is always bullied and killed…
5. And since my ghost shrimps are free in the tank unbothered by the other fish, will they continue to have eggs? (assuming they are opposite genders?)
Inert: Actualy, no my tank is not overstocked. The safe limit for a tank is one inch of fish per gallon of water. In my tank i have covered 21 inches of available 28 inches of fish.
My bichirs are only babys and reach about 3 inches long.
My shrimp have had no issue with or towards the other fish.
i have a breeding net for any fry to grow up in before being released into the tank. The tank itself is not what i’m using for breeding.
I did my research, thanks. The issue is more that i didnt give more information.
Lastly, the bichirs are not just going to eat carnivorous foods. I consulted a professional breeder when i bought them and they will eat seaweed and flakes.
I apologize if i sounded angry in this, but your knowledge of fish is even less than that of mine. and i’m asking the question.
