Doesnt this seem expensive for a fish?

i won a betta fish at the carnival and i was researching the fish and the care of them, right now he is in a plastic fish bowl, and tomorrow i was going to petsmart to get a new tank and plants and food, i was on the petsmart website and saw that brine shrimp is like 15 dollars!! I am NOT spending that much money on fish food, my freshwater fish have been fine eating fish flakes there entire life, including the guppies that i bought prego and now they are all breeding with each other which im working on seperating them, but anyway cant betta fish eat fish flakes?
I need a really good reason to buy the 15 dollar fish food for them

What is the best way to feed my fish…?

frozen brine shrimp. It’s for my saltwater fish. For my freshwater I take a bowl of their tank water and melt the cube down and pour it in. I wasn’t sure if it is the same for saltwater or not.
I feed them flakes and pellets as well I just had some left over from rasing guppy fry and thought that they might like a treat.

Fishy………………………….?

Do you know where to get that little box that pet stores have for fish? My ghost shrimp is having some babies and I need something to separate her from the bowl. Here’s a picture of what I need:

Question about Goldfish, Betta, and small bowl.?

First a bit of background about myself, I’m quite experienced with owning freshwater fish.
I currently own tanks with guppies, red-tail sharks, mollies, gouramis, mbunas, catfishes, platies, shrimps, clown/kuhli/yoyo loches, etc. And i think i’m doing really well with it.

However, i have never owned a Betta, or a Goldfish, though i have an idea of how to treat them.
But I have never owned a mini bowl tank. Unfortunatley, i have received a “betta bowl” for xMas, that looks similar to this in terms of size:

Given that I will make use of it, probably putting my first Betta in…

~~~First (set of) question:~~~
How does it really work?
As in, would you even cycle that?
Would you bother putting gravel in it, i’m planning to have horn wort in it, which doesn’t necessary need gravel.
How do you do water change? I don’t think vacuum cleaner is an option. It’s so small too, wouln’d pouring water in and out so stress the fish?
And given how small the bowl is, how often do you change the water?
My room is quite cold in winter, maybe 10-15 celcius? You can’t put a heater in that thing.
Right.. i really dont’ get how those stores can have maintain those cups of bettas…
~~~ Second (set of ) questions: ~~~
Please don’t kill me, but on the box, it says don’t get mistaken by the name, thought it’s called “Betta Bowl”, you can put a golfish in.
Now i’m pretty surprised, i thought Goldfish needs BIG tank for how messy they are. So I think it’s lying.
But in case i’m wrong, do you know any kind of GOldfish that can be happy in that bowl?

THanks! :)

do freshwater shrimp need to have constant bubbles to add oxygen in their water?

i have a betta fish and i was thinking about getting him a shrimp as a tankmate, but i’m at college and during breaks i’m taking him home to stay in a little bowl until I come back and put him in his tank. So would my shrimp be able to stay the bowl or would I have to leave him at college? I wouldn’t be able to feed him then, but there are plants and roots for him to nibble on.
Is it doable? Should I forget the whole thing? Any suggestions?
oh my tank my betta is in already has an air pump in it. it all came together in a betta kit. it’s not good for the betta?
