First a bit of background about myself, I’m quite experienced with owning freshwater fish.
I currently own tanks with guppies, red-tail sharks, mollies, gouramis, mbunas, catfishes, platies, shrimps, clown/kuhli/yoyo loches, etc. And i think i’m doing really well with it.

However, i have never owned a Betta, or a Goldfish, though i have an idea of how to treat them.
But I have never owned a mini bowl tank. Unfortunatley, i have received a “betta bowl” for xMas, that looks similar to this in terms of size:

http://www.altavistamall.com/psproducts/ACU07001.jpg

Given that I will make use of it, probably putting my first Betta in…

~~~First (set of) question:~~~
How does it really work?
As in, would you even cycle that?
Would you bother putting gravel in it, i’m planning to have horn wort in it, which doesn’t necessary need gravel.
How do you do water change? I don’t think vacuum cleaner is an option. It’s so small too, wouln’d pouring water in and out so stress the fish?
And given how small the bowl is, how often do you change the water?
My room is quite cold in winter, maybe 10-15 celcius? You can’t put a heater in that thing.
Right.. i really dont’ get how those stores can have maintain those cups of bettas…
~~~ Second (set of ) questions: ~~~
Please don’t kill me, but on the box, it says don’t get mistaken by the name, thought it’s called “Betta Bowl”, you can put a golfish in.
Now i’m pretty surprised, i thought Goldfish needs BIG tank for how messy they are. So I think it’s lying.
But in case i’m wrong, do you know any kind of GOldfish that can be happy in that bowl?

THanks!

I’ve decided I’m going to use my 10 gallon to breed freshwater shrimp. Now I’m wondering what kind of shrimp to breed, and need some info on how to go about doing it. I was thinking about crystal reds, but they’re a bit expensive. Cherry reds, on the other hand, seem too cheap and not worth breeding. Another option I was considering are yellow shrimp. What kind of shrimp would be easy to breed, and make a little money too? I’d also love any info on how to breed them, proper tank setup, etc. Links would be nice. Thanks in advance

Lucky, Maz. is my dream vacation! I know there are fancier places and all and I have never been to Mex yet. But when I realized what a good value Mex. is for a vacation I researched a bit and felt that Maz has the best combo of beach, history, location, off the beaten path, and SHRIMP! I am not interested in the Golden Zone. I like Old Maz, Norte Beach, and Olas Altas. (Olas Altas seems to be the least attractive of the beaches.) Would you recommend Casa Le Leylandas (sp.) to stay. And what about the bed and breakfasts in Ziuhajuatenjo (sorry sp.)?
