I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank. PH is about 6.8, Phosphate is zero and nitrates/ammonia is zero.
I have one angel fish (for about a year) along with a neon High Fin Platy & Dwarf Gourami. All were perfect and ate my tetra flake food. About one month ago, my niece got to the tank and poured the entire bottle of flake food in the tank. I scooped as much as I could out. I called the fish store and followed their advice. Did about a 40% water change vacuuming the bottom to get as much food out as possible… Then 25% water change each of the next two weeks. I’ve tested the tank and levels are perfect and water is clear. Problem is Angel fish will no longer eat flake food. He will only eat live brine shrimp and I know he needs more healthy food. He just stares at the flake or if he rarely takes a bite spits it right out. Fish store people told me not to feed him brine shrimp and he’ll eat when he gets hungry. Well it’s been five days and he still won’t eat the flake food. Help! He also spits out frozen blood worms and dried brine shrimp. Will only eat live shrimp. Does any fish experts have a suggestion. I don’t know what else to do and don’t want him to die. Any good suggestions would be appreciated.
