  3. If you want something cool, you could go for five female bettas.

It needs to be five- any less and the fish will gang up on each other, any more and the tank will be too crowded. Even numbers of bettas aren’t recommended.

Real plants are great for them, too. They’re carnivores and won’t touch the plant, and the plant will give them places to hide and avoid each other if they’re feeling grumpy.

For a plant, anubias species are great to start out with, or Java Fern. You can buy both pretty cheap at most pe stores. http://www.plantgeek.net/ is a great site for information on different plants.

Remember that if you go for the betta sorority, you should try and buy all five bettas at the same time, out of the same tank. It isn’t always possible, but it minimizes aggression. They will fight for a few days while trying to sort out the pecking order but they will settle down quickly.

    Good luck!

  4. I would recommend some guppies and tetra…the guppies and tetra eat the same food (tropical fish flakes) so it makes for easy eating. make sure that you have a heater though because the the fish will die if you do not have a heater. If you want the Maximum of fish in the tank get 5 guppies and 5 tetras. Here are also some fish that would be good (they all need 5 or fish because these are all schooling fish). If you want your fish to be REALLY happy get 10 of one kind.

    Sword tails

    Mollies

African dwarf frogs ( get one or two for a 10 gallon tank )

    Danios

    Platy fish

    I hope I helped!

  6. I got the perfect set up for beginners:

    5 zebra danios
    3 cories

Danios are mid-top while cories are at the bottom. They both get a long with each. The danios are very active and are constantly chasing and playing with each other. All the food that falls to the floor will be taken care of by the cories. ALso suppy sinking pellets and algae wafers for the cories just in case. Very easy to care for :)

    In my 10g i have:
    4 zebra danios
    2 peppered cories
    1 betta

    Owning fish.
