If I have a 10 gallon fish tank that I want to put some freshwater fish/frogs/shrimp in, will i have to purchase a heater?
Or can I use a light as the source of heat?
What is the cheapest heating source? I’ve seen something called a heating pad?
Does anybody have any advice for me?
Also, in a 10 gallon tank, will my goldfish be fine without a heater? Since they dont have one in their current tank? (I’m just thinking about when they outgrow it)
10 gallons too small for a goldfish? they are only 1.5 inches long…?
and the petco lady set me up with a 3 gallon tank and 2 fancy tailed goldfish…haha but from what ive read they’ll outgrow that!
not enough. You should purchase a heater. Ir’s not very expensive, I had one, it’s very good.

That depends on what sort of fish/frogs/shrimp you get, Heaters are not very expensive and a light wont work. Goldfish dont need heaters but 10 gallons is too small for a goldfish.
EDIT:
They may currently be 1.5 inches but they should grow over 12 inches.

the light is only a temporary fix. Buy a heater.

Lights dont really work as a source of heat- but by the sounds of it you may not need a heater for your fishtank.
Goldfish are cold water fish so they dont need to be kept with a heater, and the rest depends on what freshwater fish/frogs/shrimp you get.
Cant say its advisable to keep a frog in an aquarium, though.
Best to talk to your local pet store about the heat requirements of any fish you are thinking of getting.
